European Union Prize for Literature for her novel ‘Clocks in my mother’s room’. She was handed over the award by Mr Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, and Ms Lidija Topic, Head of the Mission of BiH to the EU.
This literary prize, funded by the European Commission through the program Creative Europe, is available to writers from 37 countries (EU Member States, candidate countries for accession to the EU and the countries that belong to the European economic area). Each year, in one third of the total number of participating countries, a national jury selects three candidates from their country, so that, within the three-year cycle, all countries are represented.
This award provides an opportunity to the winners to have their works translated into several European languages and thus enable them to reach a wider, international audience and approach readers on the other side of the linguistic and national barriers.
