At its 66th session, the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Decision on the process of harmonising the legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the EU acquis. This decision is aimed at improving certain solutions in the legislative harmonisation with the acquis, accumulated legislation of the European Union compared to the previous decision, ensuring the correct application of harmonisation methodologies, monitoring of the process of harmonisation and coordination of translation regulations into English. The key actors in the process of regulations and the DEI have assumed greater responsibilities by the decision given that they will be able to fully monitor the process of harmonisation, from drafting regulations in working groups to the stage of adopting amendments to regulations in legislative bodies. It also requires a more systematic approach in the process of harmonisation of the BiH legislation with the EU acquis in the light of the latest developments on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entry of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement into force, as well as the application of Bosnia and Herzegovina for EU membership.
