Sport brings people together, breaks down barriers and builds unity!
Today we celebrated this in Sarajevo, where, with the support of the European Union, the renovated sports facilities at the Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Sarajevo were officially opened.
The event, held as part of the celebration of Europe Day 2025, brought together students, professors, government representatives and exceptional athletes, including members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Sitting Volleyball Team, members of the Swimming Club Bosna and the great para-swimmer Ismail Barlov.
The EU allocated EUR 480,000 for the modernization of the sports hall, the Institute of Sports, and the renovation of the roof and facade, while the renovation of the swimming pool was financed by the Government of the Sarajevo Canton.
The project to support the Faculty of Kinesiology is part of the wider EU support to the renovation of sports halls in 17 educational institutions across BiH through the EUzaSPORT project, worth EUR 2.2 million.
Together, we create better conditions for young people to grow, learn and develop through sport.
