The national IPA 2017 programming is underway. By the end of October 2016, the European Commission should receive the final projects from IPA 2017.

The focus of IPA 2017, as recommended by the Commission will be on sectoral planning documents, public administration, internal affairs and justice, basic rights, and it is proposed to set focus on additional sectoral budget support in the area of employment.

Certain proposals of the Action documents from IPA 2017 national program will be drafted by the BiH coordinating institutions through their appointed project managers, in cooperation with the relevant beneficiary institutions.

The BiH coordinating institutions are currently preparing eight indicative projects listed below:

  1. IDDEEA capacity building and information system
  2. Further support to the public administration reform (including statistics)
  3. Further support to the public financial management (including the ITA)
  4. Further improvement of the efficiency, effectiveness and integrity of the justice sector, including the access to justice and prevention of corruption
  5. Effective implementation of the non-discrimination policy
  6. Fight against corruption and organized crime (including the AFIS)
  7. Integrated Border Management
  8. Effective migration and asylum policy

The total indicative amount for the IPA 2017 is 34.8 million EUR, allocated under the priority-based principle and defined on the basis of the certain Action document’s needs.
