As of June 3 2016, following the signing of the Agreement between the EU and BiH in Brussels, SMEs and entrepreneurs from Bosnia and Herzegovina are enabled to participate in COSME, the EU programmme for competitiveness of enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Participation in this program is a great opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises in BiH to access EU funds and projects, and the main beneficiaries of this program are entrepreneurs as well as those citizens who wish to start their own business (self-employed), young people and women entrepreneurs who are faced with difficulties in the process of starting-up their businesses.
COSME is the EU programme aimed at improving the competitiveness and sustainability of enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises running from 2014 – 2020 with a budget of EUR 2.3 billion.
