Cafe ConnectDuring March, Europe House presented “Cafe Connect” – a new dynamic platform intended to strengthen dialogue between the BiH public and ambassadors of EU member states in BiH, as well as their representatives. In an informal and pleasant environment, students have the opportunity to exchange opinions, contribute to the development of new initiatives and discuss a common European future.

Event PhotoThematically, the editions of Cafe Connect will be linked to current issues and significant European and international observances. The first event of this series was held on the occasion of International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, and highlighted the key role of women in the development of society. Along with lively conversation, a conceptual exhibition “Her Chair” was also presented, which highlighted significant discoveries and contributions of women throughout history that are often neglected and erased from the collective memory.

Campaign Image 1Through the recognisable online campaign #closEUp, Europe House continues to strengthen cooperation with the European Union member states in Bosnia and Herzegovina. With informative and interesting facts about the culture and traditions of the 27 EU member states, awareness of European diversity and values ​​is being strengthened.

Campaign Image 2This month, the campaign highlighted Bulgaria and the importance of rose oil production, Ireland, represented by a symbolic shamrock, and Greece, represented by an ancient theatrical mask.

Bulgaria AntarcticaIn cooperation with the Embassy of Bulgaria in BiH, Europe House organised talks with young people as well as the exhibition “33 Years of Bulgaria in Antarctica” during which the importance of protecting polar regions was highlighted in order to reduce the negative consequences of climate change.

On the occasion of International Day of Forests, a new edition of the Ecopedia campaign was presented, which emphasized the importance of forests in maintaining biodiversity, regulating weather conditions, ensuring the sustainability of food production and preserving resources.

Europe House Info Points continued to implement interactive presentations for primary and secondary school students. Together with schoolchildren, we learn about the history and founding of the European Union, relations between the EU and BiH, and opportunities for young people. During March, 6 presentations were held together with 153 students.

Europe House Event

Since opening its doors to the public in October 2023, 313 events have been held in the Europe House premises with more than 36,000 visitors.

In addition to our regular activities, the Europe House premises hosts events of projects supported by the European Union, initiatives organised by the embassies of EU member states in BiH and their cultural institutes, as well as activities of other organisations, institutions and projects to which the Europe House space in Sarajevo is provided free of charge. Since opening our doors to the public, 190 such events have been organised.
