#OurPlanetOurFutureJune at Europe House was packed with activities, exploring and supporting a greener future and culture across Bosnia and Herzegovina! The month began with an award ceremony for the Trashformers competition for primary and secondary schools. This initiative encouraged schools to develop waste management and recycling projects. As part of the flagship initiative #OurPlanetOurFuture, this almost three-month initiative included 91 schools and 1,016 students, demonstrating the interest of BiH citizens in protecting the environment. Supporting green initiatives, we published another edition of our educational series Ecopedia. This edition, marking World Refill Day, highlighted the importance of reducing plastic waste through reusable materials and reusable packaging. |

#EuropeForCultureAs part of #EuropeForCulture activities, we supported festivals across the country to support cultural exchange. In cooperation with Sarajevo Photography Festival, events were organised that highlighted photography and European cultural dialogue, creating a platform for international exchange in Sarajevo. In order to make art more accessible and promote street performance, we also supported the TrotoArt Fest in Banja Luka.

#EUzaBiHWithin the scope of #EUzaBiH activities, the focus was on EU funding opportunities and the results of EU financial support, through the publication of a call for proposals for academic mobility of Western Balkan countries, as well as support for civil society organisations working on the inclusion of people with disabilities. We continued our cooperation with EU member states through the online campaign #closEUp. The aim of this initiative is to promote awareness of national days and cultural aspects of all 27 EU member states. In June, the campaign highlighted four member states on the occasion of their national days: Italy, focusing on coffee in its culture; Denmark, with its iconic Little Mermaid; Sweden, through their “fika” – a social ritual of enjoying a hot drink and a pastry; and Portuguese azulejos, known for their distinctive design. |
