The UNESCO identifies the World Teachers’ Day as an opportunity to commemorate teachers’ organisations worldwide and also aims to activate support for teachers and to ensure that teachers continue to supply to the global framework of needs and requirements conducive in building a well-founded footing to a sound and greatly enabled future generation.
This year World Teachers’ Day marks the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. It is also the first world Teachers’ Day (WTD) to be celebrated within the new Global Education 2030 Agenda adopted by the world community one year ago.
In all countries the world round, which celebrate Teachers’ Day the day normally involves with children, students and pupils presenting gifts, flowers and another tokens of appreciation to their beloved teachers. In some countries school-children organise day-long events at their school including dance, recitals, songs, theatre. The day, in general breaks the monotony of a daily scholastic routine and not much is actually studied on teacher’s day. The atmosphere is very genial and teachers and students share a very informal comradeship.
