Winter 2024 with Europe House

We began the winter of ’24 with #EUzaBiH campaign activities and participation in the traditional Diplomatic Winter Bazaar, which brings together representatives of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of supporting young people and organisations dealing with youth issues. We also explored the sights and attractions of Sweden and Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus ending the #closEUp campaign through which we represented member states of the European Union over the past two years. But don’t worry! We are preparing a new look and content for this campaign and will soon start a new cycle featuring numerous interesting facts about European countries! In cooperation with the Directorate for European Integration, we organised an Info Day on the EU program EU4Health, where we presented successful initiatives, enabled exchange of information and advice for new applicants of this largest European Union program for the development of the health sector, in which Bosnia and Herzegovina also participates.

We organised another edition of Europe House Info Days as part of our long-term #OurPlanetOurFuture activities to highlight the importance of EU environmental policies, focusing on energy transition and, together with decision-makers, academic and professional communities, we discussed the importance of this topic and the current state of the sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Exploring this topic further, we published two editions of the My EU Story series on social media and two editions of the EU Periscope radio show that presented successful energy renovation activities of public institutions including the Public Health Centre in Ilidža, kindergartens in Sarajevo, as well as the companies R&S from Sarajevo and Civić from Cazin. Explaining the key principles of the European Union Green Deal, we also published educational infographics on EU energy policies. We also marked World Mountain Day and highlighted the importance of mountains for overall health and biodiversity conservation.

Our Europe House Booked literary evenings, organised through the #EuropeForCulture campaign, enable inspiring conversations with writers about the importance of the written word and its impact in modern society. The last edition for 2024 of this series featured Irma Bejdić, a young author who presented her life and inspiration in her novel “Irma i ja”.

During the winter months, we organised three school presentations across the country and two school visits to Europe House in Sarajevo together with 191 students.

Since opening its doors to the public in October 2023, Europe House has hosted 284 events with almost 33,000 visitors.

Thank you for being with us again this winter! We look forward to new gatherings in February 2025!
