On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and to highlight strong commitment of the European Union towards children’s rights, the EU Info Centre in BiH organized today one-day exhibition to mark the completion of the prize competition entitled “Every child’s right is important” in Importanne shopping center in Sarajevo.
167 primary schools from all around of Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in the competition with art works on the theme of the Rights of the Child. Top three places won the Primary School Ivan Mažuranić from Tomislavgrad, Primary School Novi Grad and Primary School Sjenjak both from Tuzla.
“I am very pleased to have participated in this important project. We really enjoyed, even though participation was sweet, victory was even sweeter,” said a teacher of fine arts Borka Jokic from the two winning schools Novi Grad and Sjenjak from Tuzla.
In the exhibition space in form of symbolic EU letters visitors could see art works from three winning schools and works from 25 finalists. Children show theri perspective and view on how they see children’s rights.
